IBA Annual Conference Miami 2022
More than 5 000 lawyers from 130 jurisdictions met at the International Bar Association (IBA) annual conference in Miami, which was opened by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The main message of the conference to the whole world: on 27 October, IBA and General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation to ensure responsibility for war crimes and other international crimes (including crimes of aggression, genocide and conflict-related sexual violence).
“Defenders of the law and human rights” – this is how President Zelensky addressed the participants in his opening speech and emphasized the important role of lawyers in ensuring justice.
