Illegal Construction: How to Identify and Legalize It?
Every year, Lithuanian courts handle numerous cases related to unauthorized constructions. Many people mistakenly believe this only involves building a new house without permits. However, even minor modifications without proper documentation can be considered illegal construction.
Jonas Platelis, an attorney at the law firm “Noewe Legal,” discussed this topic on LRT’s “Radijo byla” program, explaining what constitutes illegal construction, potential consequences, and how to legalize such structures. He emphasized that ignorance does not exempt one from responsibility, making it crucial to verify all necessary documents and permits in advance.
The “Noewe Legal” team has extensive experience in real estate and construction law, providing clients with consultations on building permits, project legality, and dispute resolution.
