Lithuania and Poland Have Signed a Memorandum of Bilateral Defence Cooperation

We are part of a historic event. A bilateral memorandum on industrial cooperation in the field of cyber security and defense was signed at the Polish-Lithuanian Defense Business Forum in Warsaw today, 5 September, 2024.

The memorandum was signed by representatives from the country’s main defense industry business organizations: Robert Juodka, Member of the Board the Lithuanian Defense and Security Industry Association, and Sławomir Kułakowski, President of the Polish Chamber of National Defense Manufacturers.

Robert also participated in a panel discussion “Mapping Opportunities for Lithuanian-Polish Public and Private Partnerships on Defence and Security, Support for Ukraine”.

The forum was attended by the President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda, the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda, the defense policymakers of both countries and over 70 representatives of defense industry companies from Lithuania and Poland.

Defense and security industry markets of both countries were presented in Warsaw. Focusing mainly on issues of assistance to Ukraine, regional security and cyber security, defense innovation and high technology, partnership between countries and joint production.

More about forum: in the context of RU‘s war against Ukraine, the economy has become an integral part of security, with regional cooperation as its main axis. The defence industry is no exception; knowledge about
the possibilities of nearby markets, products, and innovations provides a development advantage and new opportunities. Time has become the main driver, making it essential to ensure the speed of
innovation, regulatory processes, and resource implementation. To address these needs, the Lithuanian-Polish Defence Forum is being initiated with the support of the presidents of Lithuania and
Poland, along with the Ministries of National Defence, various agencies, and sector leaders.
