Survey on European Crypto Regulation

2023-04-21

On 20 April 2023 EU Markets in Crypto Assets regulation (MiCA) was approved by the European Parliament, which will implement many new requirements for the crypto asset service providers (CASPs).

In April 2023 a survey initiated by international law firm CMS called “European Crypto Regulation: A Summary of Law by Country“ was released. This survey provides an overview of European cryptoasset regulation (prior to the introduction of MiCA), focussing on 28 European jurisdictions, both inside and outside the EU. The aim of the survey is to provide information which is both legally accurate and a practical aid for decision-making.

NOEWE lawyers, led by Managing Partner (International Business) Robert Juodka, took part in this survey as experts of Lithuanian jurisdiction and provided their input on how cryptoassets industry is regulated in Lithuania.

The survey can be found here.
