Upcoming #GreenClaims regulation is a game-changer for businesses making environmental claims.

2024-11-21

On November 15, 2024, Inga Karaliūnaitė, Environmental Law Expert at NOEWE Legal, took the stage at the 11th Sustainability Summit in Vilnius, hosted by the Norwegian Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce, Estonian Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania, Finnish Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce, Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania, and Lithuanian Responsible Business Association (#LAVA).

Inga shared her expertise in the Greenwashing Environmental Session: Green Pretenders – Truly Sustainable or Just for Show? The session tackled greenwashing, transparency, and impactful ESG practices, sparking discussions on balancing authenticity with sustainability.

Key recommendations for businesses during preparation period:

• Review existing green claims currently used in your communications, marketing, and product descriptions.

• Ensure robust substantiation – develop clear, evidence-based justifications for every claim, using measurable and scientific data.

• Verify claims through third-party validation – work with accredited bodies.

The discussion was insightful, deep, and inspiring, sparking valuable feedback from attendees. Events like these remind us that it’s the people—your engagement, expertise, and commitment—that drive change and make discussions impactful.

Thank you to the organizers and everyone who participated for making this summit an exceptional opportunity to connect, learn, and lead toward a more sustainable future.
